Call for Applications

AI is revolutionizing policymaking by providing data-driven insights for more effective and evidence-based policies. The drive for a national AI policy in Nigeria underscores the need to train policymakers in AI to support local ventures, fueling job creation and economic growth.

Introduction

The project: The Digital Transformation Center Nigeria (DTC Nigeria) is jointly funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.  The project focuses primarily on digitalization, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It aims to contribute to the development of a robust and dynamic digital innovation ecosystem in Nigeria. 

Part of the mandate of GIZ/DTC Nigeria is to build the capacity of policy actors in innovative topics. To this end, the project is implementing AI training for policy actors.

This call for applications will be limited to the following states:

Lagos, Rivers, Kano, Abia and Abuja.

Location: Lagos

Eligibility criteria

– Minimum of 3 years of experience facilitating trainings specifically for policy actors.

– At least 2 years of experience implementing training programs using digital tools and initiatives. 

– Demonstrated impact through at least 2 documented digital transformation projects led in the past, with clear outcomes such as policy changes or adoption rate.

– Submission of a detailed plan outlining how the knowledge gained will be disseminated.

Guidelines for your Application

Before you start this application, ensure you have the following documents ready, as you will be required to upload them along with your application: 

  • Your CAC document 
  • A detailed plan outlining how the knowledge gained will be disseminated. 

Your proposed application should also cover the following: 

  • Evidence of your experience implementing training programs using digital tools and platforms, with examples of how these tools were integrated.  
  • Documented impact through digital transformation projects led in the past, with clear outcomes such as policy changes or adoption rate. 
  • A comprehensive plan detailing dissemination of the knowledge and skills gained during the AI training to other target groups. 
  • Persons that will be attending the training, including their roles and relevant experience.
